On your first visit, you will be welcomed into Julie’s waiting room which is peaceful and relaxing. This is an ideal opportunity for you to take some time to relax and unwind while completing a consultation form prior to your treatment. All information taken remains confidential.
After the initial consultation you will move to a tranquil treatment room with a comfortable couch for you to lie and rest on.
You always remain fully clothed during Reflexology treatments, though you will be asked to remove socks and shoes.
Reflexology treatments usually last for one hour but can easily be adjusted to the client’s needs and condition.
You can choose to receive the treatment in silence or with soft music playing, it will be your choice.
You will be offered a blanket to cover you during the treatment, as your body temperature can drop when you relax.
Julie will use her thumbs, fingers and/or knuckles to apply pressure to your feet and sometimes the lower leg, hands or ears, depending on the type of reflexology chosen. Some areas of the feet may feel tender when pressed, but this will pass. The general experience will feel very relaxing.
Julie will talk to you after your treatment about what you and she felt, this may lead to a recommendation for further treatments to aid well being.
After one or two treatments most people feel an improved sense of wellbeing and experience a feeling of deep relaxation. Occasionally people report experiencing a mild headache, feeling tired or needing to go to the toilet more often following their treatment. These are normal reactions and should pass within 24-48 hours; reflexologists believe this is part of the healing process.
Please note: Reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice
